I asked you how you found books...now I'm curious. Why do you decide to buy them?
Do you buy simply because of the author?
I do this all the time for authors I love. To date I haven't regretted it.
Do you buy because more than one friend couldn't stop talking about the book and you have to see what the hype is about?
How about the blurb...have you ever bought a book simply for that?
Or maybe the cover grabs your attention and buy it for that reason?
I LOVE reviews on blogs and online - the best place to learn about new books, I think. Friend recommendations depend - if it's a friend with the same taste as me (or similar) then maybe.
ReplyDeleteUsually, though, it's the cover/copy and the first page or two when I'm in the bookstore that convince me to buy a book. If I read the first page and want to keep reading, I'll buy. If I'm bored on that first page, back to the shelf it goes.
Good point on reading the first page or two. I admit I'm usually a cover and blurb reader when I'm at a bookstore. Thanks for stopping by!
